5s Healthy Ways Programme
During Primary School we encourage young sports stars to work on their Stamina, Speed, Strength, Skill and Suppleness. At Wright Sport Services and Chance Camp we love hearing and seeing how well children transfer these into daily activities and community sports.
When children are active it is vital they also know which foods will provide them with the correct energy needed to complete those activities and help with recovery afterwards. During our '5s Healthy ways' lessons we cover the importance of eating a balanced diet of carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, proteins, dairy, fats and oils.
Each week children will complete an activity booklet, alongside lots of fun activities to develop their 5s powers and knowledge.
The key to success in this programme, is to share learning with family, visit community shops and venues we recommend and enjoy trying new foods! Children will have the chance of being involved in planning and preparation of their breakfast, lunch and dinner.
