Lockdown 2: Homework Challenges brought to you by Chance Camp

We support Cumbria & Allerdale School Games

Here at Chance Camp we understand how children must really be missing extra-curricular activities including sports clubs and club training, we certainly are! We have decided to provide you with more activities to use for your homework during lockdown 2! These activities will be posted daily on social media and posted here for you to try. These activities are from our new 5s Programme and will be based on strength- something you can easily do at home!

Send us a video/photo and let us know how you get on- you can even make it into a family competition!

Homework Challenges Week Commencing Monday 7th December

Lockdown 2 - Skipping Challenge

Today’s challenge revisits one of our key skills of last half term, skipping!

Scarlet from  Victoria Junior school has 4 skipping challenges for you!

 Two footed jumping skips

 Single foot steps/shuffle skips

 Backwards skipping

 Double 'unders'

Try to keep your body upright

Keep a steady rhythm with your jumping

use your wrists to spin the rope and not your whole arms!

Scarlet’s going to keep persevering with her double 'unders' and let us know when she manages to get the rope to go under her feet twice in a single jump!

Lockdown 2- Push Up Challenge:

Today there are 3 challenges we would like you to try and complete!

1: how many push ups can you do in 1 minute?

2: how slow can you perform a push up? Remember to keep your body nice and straight!

3: can you get creative with your push ups, maybe try using one hand? How else can you be creative?

Show us/let us know on this post

Good luck!

Homework Challenges Week Commencing Monday 30th November

Lockdown 2- Static Shoulder Press Hold

How long can you hold the shoulder press for with good posture?

Lockdown 2 ~ Sit Up Challenges

Today’s challenge is all about slowing down movements!

How slowly can you perform 5 sit ups?

⚫️Option 1:

🟠 Keep your feet flat on the floor

🟡 Cross your arms across your chest

🔴 Breath out as you sit up

⚫️Option 2:

🟠 Put your legs into the butterfly position

🟡 Arms straight, fingers touching the floor

🔴 As you sit up, fingers touch your feet

To make it more challenging you can try holding an object against your chest (flat feet position) or in your hands (butterfly position). This will make your body heavier and so you will have to work harder to perform the sit up!

See Jays’ fantastic effort below of 5 slow sit ups in 24 seconds!

Lockdown 2- Week 3- Task 3: Hand Stand Push Ups

Kneeling on a bench/ box, how many push ups can you complete in 1 minute.

Lockdown 2- Chest Press Challenge!

All you need is a bar, mop, brush or pole. Lay on your back with the pole in both hands, elbows at 90 degrees in line with your chest.

Push the pole up nice and fast, as far as you can.

To make it harder, get a partner to put a little bit of pressure on the pole.

How many can you do in 1 minute?

Good luck 😄 have a fab weekend all!

You can even land and go straight into another repetition of

the squat jump.

🟡 Keep your feet flat on the floor (if you’re going onto your tip toes, put your feet a little bit wider apart)

🟠 Keep your chest facing forward and your back nice and straight (imagine you are balancing something on your head!)

🔴 Try to get your bottom to go as low as your knee, just like you were sitting on an invisible chair. How many air squats can you do in 1 minute?
